Greenwich Borough Neighbourhood Watch Association Coordinators toolkit:
Everyone has a role to play
Everyone has a role to play within their community to ensure a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is effective.
Crime cannot thrive in communities that care.
You can do your bit by looking out for what needs to be done to improve your community.
If there issues regarding tagging and graffiti, fly-tipping or dog fouling why not organise with Greenwich Council a special clean-up day.
The council may be able to provide you with anti tagging and graffiti cleaning kits.
Why not organise a clearing up day on say some nearby waste ground that needs tidying up and make a trip to the Greenwich Recycling Centre in Thamesmead.
Hold an annual front garden or window box competition and get someone from Parks and Open Spaces to judge the entries.
Work together in supporting a local charity, for example by holding a coffee morning or a book or garage sale.
Neighbourhood Watch can be very sociable, and in helping to promote community spirit you could organise BBQs, seasonal events, community fetes etc.
